In what is being billed as one of the biggest fights in Canadian boxing history, former world champions Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 17 KOs) and Lucian Bute (31-1-0, 24 KOs) will face off on Saturday, January 18 in an anticipated battle for national boxing supremacy, airing live on HBO Championship Boxing from the Bell Centre in Montreal. The gala event is co-promoted by Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) and InterBox. FightFan.com caught up with Jean Pascal to get his thoughts on this historic bout.
“This is the Super Bowl of Canadian boxing,” Pascal told FightFan.com’s Ace Freeman “It’s the Mayweather-Pacquiao of Canadian fights. It’s going to be an epic fight, a big event and a big win for Jean Pascal. I love to fight southpaws and I think that’s going to make it an exciting style match up. One I’m going to win!”
