Officials set for Golovkin-Stevens

The New York State Athletic Commission has assigned the officials for the card Saturday night (HBO, 10 ET/PT) at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

When middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KOs) squares off with Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18 KOs) in the main event, the third man in the ring will be referee Harvey Dock of New York. The judges will be Michael Pernick of Florida, Max DeLuca of California and New Jersey's John Poturaj. All are experienced officials.

In the heavyweight co-feature between Magomed Abdusalamov (18-0, 18 KOs) and Mike Perez (19-0, 12 KOs), the referee will be Benjy Esteves. Judges for the fight will be Julie Lederman, John Stewart and Don Trella.

In another notable bout -- although not part of HBO's telecast -- cruiserweight contender Ola Afolabi (19-3-4, 9 KOs) will face Lukasz Janik (26-1, 14 KOs). The referee will be Earl Brown, with Waleska Roldan, Jerry Roth and Joseph Pasquale making up the judging panel.

According to the commission, Golovkin’s purse is $400,000, Stevens gets $290,000, Adusalamov $40,000, Perez $30,000 and Afolabi and Janik get $20,000 apiece.
