Top Rank signs Brazil Olympic star Esquiva Falcao

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Brazilian Olympic medal-winning boxer Esquiva Falcao has signed with Top Rank.
The American promotional company announced a deal with Falcao on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old Falcao won silver at middleweight in the London Olympics, falling just short of Brazil's first Olympic boxing gold.
Falcao lost the gold medal bout 14-13 to Japan's Ryota Murata, who also signed with Top Rank this year. Murata won on the strength of a two-point penalty given to Falcao in the final round.
Falcao's brother, Yamaguchi, won a bronze medal in London. He signed with Golden Boy Promotions this year.
Esquiva Falcao will begin his pro career in early 2014.
Top Rank has signed at least eight elite Olympians from London, including gold medalists Murata, Vasyl Lomachenko, Zou Shiming and Egor Mekhontcev.
