Khan is ready to return to action in December and a victory will set-up a mouth-watering meeting with Mayweather next spring.
But Mayweather Sr warned in an interview with Hustleboss: “If there’s one fighter whose a** I want Floyd to whip it’s Amir Khan – he’s no outstanding fighter and as long as he stays here he’ll keep getting his a** whipped.”
Mayweather, 36, holds world titles at light-welterweight and light-middleweight and is regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Khan, 26, a former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, believes he is just one fight away from a clash with Mayweather.
He said: “When you are young the dream is to be world champion and now the dream is to fight and beat Mayweather.
“Once you beat him you become the best pound-for-pound fighter around and that’s what everyone aims for.
“Maybe I got knocked out or didn’t perform well in some fights, but my style would be exciting to watch against him.

“He’ll make a lot of money with the Alvarez fight, but I can’t think of any other boxer with as big of a following or pull that I have that he can fight.”
Khan is still searching for his next opponent after original choice Devon Alexander cooled on the fight.
“It looked promising but he kept coming up with excuses,” said Khan. Whoever his opponent is, the fight will see Khan moving up to the welterweight division.
He said: “I think I’ll be a lot more comfortable at 147lbs. I’ve been struggling to make the weight.
“I have been at 140lbs for a long time so I’ll be looking to fight at 147lbs next time.
