"Chris Arreola, he's a brawler. He's going to come. One thing is for sure, you had better be in shape when you fight him, because he definitely comes."
Seth Mitchell is going to face Chris Arreola on Friday, September 6, in a special edition of Showtime Championship Boxing at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, and the would-be heavyweight contender is saying this is a do-or-die crossroads bout for both men.
"I look at this as a crossroads fight for both of us. He's coming off of a loss, and I just avenged my loss to Johnatnon Banks. But a loss here, and that win against Johnathon Banks means nothing. So I'm expecting the best Chris Arreola. I'm expecting him to be in shape. He knows that this is a do or die fight for him, and I feel the same way for me. It has all of the ingredients for a very entertaining fight."
Arreola (35-3, 30 KO) is coming off of a loss, but Mitchell (26-1-1, 19 KO) has shown a suspect beard against the likes of Johnathon Banks and Chazz Witherspoon, and neither of those guys have the punching power nor fight with the ferocity and intent to harm that Arreola does. It's a really risky fight for Mitchell, almost surprisingly risky for his handlers to take, but it's going to happen. And it's a good fight that should have plenty of fireworks, however long it lasts.
Is Mitchell biting off more than he can chew with Arreola, or do you think Arreola may be mentally beaten following his one-sided loss to Bermane Stiverne?
