Résult San Antonio 2 september: Collazo outboxes Sanchez; Martinez and Warren also win

Former welterweight world champion Luis Collazo (34-5, 17 KOs) outpointed Alan Sanchez (12-3-1, 6 KOs) over ten mostly forgettable rounds on Monday night at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas. Collazo prevailed by scores of 99-91, 98-92, 97-93. The bout was for the WBA International belt.

A member of the 2004, 2008 and 2012 United States Olympic teams, Rau’shee Warren (15-0, 3 KOs) dropped Omar Gonzalez (6-10, 1 KO) five times en route to a six round unanimous decision. Gonzalez, who upset Raul Martinez in his previous fight, was dropped twice in round one and once in four four. Warren then dropped Gonzalez two more times in round six to punctuate his 60-49, 60-49, 60-51 win.

Local super bantamweight hero Raul “The Cobra” Martinez (30-3, 18 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Daniel “Cuate” Quevedo (13-14-3, 8 KOs) in a scheduled eight-rounder. A determined Martinez, who had dropped two of his last three, wasn’t about to lose to Quevedo, who didn’t come out for round five citing a shoulder injury.

Welterweight Jairo Castaneda (3-0, 1 KO) won a four round unanimous decision over Warren Stewart (0-2). Scores were 40-36 on all cards.
