Nielsen defeats Majewski; Braekhus stops Castillo

Unbeaten middleweight Patrick Nielsen (20-0, 9 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision Patrick “The Machine” Majewski (21-2, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

Nielsen outworked Majewski early and scored a fifth round knockdown. Majewski came on late, but got little credit from the judges. Scores were 119-108, 119-108, 118-109. The WBA and WBO intercontinental belts were on the line.

WBC/WBA/WBO female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus (23-0, 7 KOs) scored a ninth round TKO over 18-year-old WBO jr middleweight champion Oxandia Castillo (12-1-2, 9 KOs).

Excellent fight where both ladies had their moments, but a Braekhus barrage in round nine rocked Castillo prompting a seemingly quick referee’s stoppage.

Former “Contender” reality series star Ahmad Kaddour (27-2-1, 10 KOs) outpointed Aleksei Tsatiasvili (4-5, 2 KOs) over six rounds.

Unbeaten super featherweight Dennis Ceylan (7-0, 4 KOs) annihilated Tommi Schmidt (6-7, 3 KOs) in round one.
