Rodriguez annihilates Grachev in first round to win Super 4; All result from Monte-Carlo

 Allakhverdiev retains WBA 140lb belt with TKO11 over M’baye


In the million dollar Super 4 Final at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco, unbeaten super middleweight Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KOs) scored an explosive first round TKO over Denis “Drago’s Son” Grachev (13-2-1, 8 KOs). Rodriguez hurt Grachev early and floored him about one minute in. Rodriguez continued to punish Grachev and put him down again. 


The bout was then waved off by referee Stanley Christodoulou as Rodriguez continued to hammer away. Time was 2:50. Rodriguez earns $600,000 with the win. The bout was fought at a 172 catch weight.

WBA super lightweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-0, 9 KOs) scored an eleventh round TKO over former champion Souleymane M’baye (40-5-1, 22 KOs). Allakhverdiev dropped M’baye in round two. M’baye was down again in round eight, then survived a merciless Allakhverdiev assault. The fight ended when referee Luis stepped in in round eleven to save M’baye after Allakhverdiev rocked him again. Time was 2:27.

In a clash for the vacant WBC silver cruiserweight belt, Junior Makabu (14-1, 13 KOs) won a close twelve round majority decision over WBC #2/IBF #6 Dmytro Kucher (21-1, 15 KOs). Good action fight with Makabu landing the better quality shots. Scores were 114-114, 115-113, 115-114.

European middleweight beltholder Max Bursak (27-1-1, 12 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Prince Arron (23-5-1, 5 KOs). Bursak dropped Arron in rounds eight and round nine. Scores were 116-
